Will a doctor looking for possible heart desease in one's blood detect weed?!

Question: Will a doctor looking for possible heart desease in one's blood detect weed.?
A doctor is coming to my job to check our probability of getting a heart attack. He is going to take a sample of blood from our finger to determine our chances of getting heart desease. The problem is that I smoke weed once in a while and I don't want my employers to know. They will get a report from the doctor stating my results.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
No. They won't detect weed unless they are specifically testing for it. That is not included in a cardiac work up. Health Question & Answer

First off, most doctors don't care about that in your blood. They're looking for something more serious that can lead to serious disease. Second, if you're over 18, they're not supposed to let ANYONE know of your results (including your parents), without your permission. Third, depends on the last time you toked. If it was well over a week, you should be fine. Otherwise, if you're still scared, drink a lot of water and cranberry juice, and you can even take detox pills if you really want.Health Question & Answer

That's strange that your employer wants to know your "probability" for heart disease. Sounds a little fishy to me. But yes if the doctor drawing the blood looks for a positive marijuana read out and you have one, there is a good possibility your employer will be informed. Just drink a whole ton of water and flush your system out. Good luck. Where do you work.? Health Question & Answer

Unless they are specifically looking for illegal drugs, they will not.
However, you must have signed a release to get this exam.
Read it carefully and look for, specifically, what exactly they are looking for, what tests will be done and most importantly, to whom these results will be disclosed.Health Question & Answer

oh please.... the doctor is checking lipid levels, not drug levels. to find a drug in the blood stream requires very specific tests, and they are tests for which your permission and consent have to be obtained. in short, no, he isn't looking for drugs and he will have no means to find them anyway.Health Question & Answer

they might be able to tell, depends on how much testing they do. i wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't affect my performance.Health Question & Answer
