as long as you put them in right then you should be fine. If you maybe drop them in... say.... cate poopy box... then they will HURT. But look at these instructions so you can put them in correctly...

Step 1 Wash your hands thoroughly. It's best to allow them to air dry because drying off with a towel could deposit tiny fibers on your hands that will cause problems.
Step 2 Open the right eye lens case and use your index finger to scoop the lens out.
Step 3 Place the lens on your index finger. Rinse the lens carefully with solution. If it folds down, just push it back up with your other index finger. Make sure the lens is right side out. The edges of the lens should curve inward not out.
Step 4 Lift the lens to your eye and use your middle finger to pull down your lower lid.
Step 5 Place the contact lens on your eye and release your lower lid. Blink your eye to adjust the lens.
Step 6 Repeat this process with the left eye. Once finished, clean out the contact case and refill with fresh solution.

I have worn contacts in the past. My experience with contacts has been that when I was prescribed contacts, the optometrist or his assistant had a practice exercise in inserting the contacts. I was asked to insert my contacts twice by myself before leaving with the contacts. Before visiting your optometrist, find out if he or she will explain and practice putting in the contacts with you when they are prescribed.

I don't recommend trying this if you have sharp nails, but if you have very short nails try touching your eye VERY GENTLY with the tip of your finger. If you can touch it without flinching or hurting yourself, chances are you will be able to learn how to use contacts without trouble.

I would caution you on wearing lots of eye makeup when your contacts are in, especially heavy shadows and liners can cause your eyes to be very sensitive and watery when wearing contacts. Health Question & Answer

It takes some getting used to. I have very bad vision so from the age of 12 until now...27 I have been wearing contacts. I didn't like them at first because as you stated I don't like things close to my eyes or even in my eye's I had so many thoughts about them getting stuck and other things like that but I had to really get used to them.

My parents took me to the eye doctor to get fitted for them....I was so nervous trying to put them in it took me over an hour and then I had to take them out before I could leave just to show the doctor and my parents that I could handle them. That was not only scary but it felt pretty odd at first. I kept them in all day and had to take them out at night I finally got used to them after about a week and have loved them every since...

I don't think I could wear glasses anymore after having contacts for so long...Just give yourself time and I think you will enjoy them...Health Question & Answer
