Why are my pupils like this?!

Question: Why are my pupils like this.?
Yeah so I just looked in the mirror and noticed that my pupil in my left eye is really small and my right pupil is huge. Is that bad.? Or is it just normal....?Health Question & Answer

Ok, question is...how long have they been different sizes and have you had any type of head trauma such as a concussion.?

My reason for asking this is there is a condition that one is born with caused Anisocoria. This causes naturally uneven pupils.

Not only that but over the counter eye drops tend to cause it, head trauma such as concussion, or pressure in the brain...if you're prone to migraines it may also cause uneven pupils

Doctors actually have a scale of pupil sizes. It is not uncommon for people to have pupils that are one size apart. However, if there is more than one size difference in them, and they are not reactive to light/darkness or as reactive as they should me (getting smaller when you look at a light source, getting larger when covered), it could signal a problem. Sometimes it is a result of head trauma. If you have any related symptoms, such as a headache, blurred vision, dizziness, or have just suffered a head injury (even if you don't think it's serious) you should see a doctor. If they adjust on their own you should probably just keep track of their changes over time and make a note of it and mention it to your doctor next visit.Health Question & Answer

I too have one pupil larger than the other. Doctors have told me it's fine. New docs do always ask about it though.

If you think it is something new, I would watch for neurological problems...extreme headaches, blurred vision, etc.Health Question & Answer

if it is something that just occurred recently, definitely see an eye doctor asap, as it probably neurological.Health Question & Answer
