Ganglion Cyst | Have to get Surgery ?!

Question: Ganglion Cyst | Have to get Surgery .?
As you can tell by the title, I have a Ganglion Cyst. haha

Well I'm going to need surgery soon to get it removed but I'm a little nervous.

But first, I have to get another MRI on Monday. They have to inject something, like a dye or something, so they can see it all.

- How bad is that going to hurt.? And how long will the needle be in.?

Ok, so my cyst is not common. It's large (in my wrist) and it wraps around my bone. Eek My doctor said it's rare (well not that rare) that a 16 year old has this. Most importantly, like this.

- How long will the surgery be.?
- Will it hurt at all.?
- Will I have to wear a cast.?
- Is there any chance that something will happen and I will lose movement in my hand.?
- Will there be a scar from the stitches.?
- When it is removed, will my bone stop popping out when I move it.?
- Will there be any after pain.? If so, how long.?

Sorry for so many questions but I need to calm myself down a little.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
How long have you had it .?

I had one on my wrist doing a similar thing it looked nasty and was popping out and I could push it back in, gross! My doctor told me to leave it alone as long as it wasn't interfering with anything I had to do.

After about a year and a half it went away! (Within that year and a half it would come and go.)

I'd get a second opinion before surgery unless you think you reallly need it!
