Do drug withdrawls only happen at night? Do they stop in the morning?!

Question: Do drug withdrawls only happen at night.? Do they stop in the morning.?
I have a friend who says he's trying to quit drugs. At night he'll message me and barely make any sense and say he's in a lot of pain. But later at night (like anywhere from 1-3 in the morning) and during the day, he seems completely fine. Is this normal.? Or is he just trying to make me think he's quitting and he's not.? I thought the withdrawal symptoms would last into the day, not just for a few hours at night. Health Question & Answer

No it's not normal, he's getting a fix somehow at night or he would still have withdrawl symptoms through the day. If he relies heavily on drugs he would need a safe detox at a hospital, to quit stopping at once could actually kill him.Health Question & Answer

If it's a narcotic or controlled drug he's addicted to, no one can feel really horrible at night and just fine later on in the early hours of the morning and the next day. I think you're being fooled. I have been addicted to controlled drugs for panic attacks and they are hell to get off of. I didn't feel 'fine' for weeks while being weaned off them.Health Question & Answer

Of course they go on day and night. Sounds to me like he doesn't take them in the day, but at night when no one is looking, he does all he can get his hands on. Health Question & Answer
