Question: How do I ask my mom to take me to a neurologist.?
I've talked to her a little bit about my problems before, and she said it was "teenageridos" (a joke). And we can't afford to go to a neurologist and insurance might not cover it if they don't think its important. But I've been thinking about this a lot today, and I think something actually might be wrong. In the past day, I've had a lot of mess ups. I picked my mp3player up but it slipped out of my hands. And I was folding clothes with my sister, and I kept missing the clothes when I tried to pick them up. And when I was walking to the store today, my knee kept trying to make me fall, and I was showing my dad something, but it fell out of my hands when I was holding it up. I haven't told my mom much of what's been happening, because we're all working on the roof before code tries to fine us, and when I try talking to her about my problems she sounds annoyed. But I really need to know how to ask her to take me to a neurologist.Health Question & Answer

Ask her to take you to a family doctor instead. That would probably be easier for her to "stomach" for lack of a better term. Then tell your familiy doctor your symptoms and see if he/she can give you a referral to a neurologist. That way, your insurance will likely cover at least most of it, and it will add credibility to your claim if a medical professional says you need to see a neurologist. Health Question & Answer
