Haha Tilly! I dragged my boyfriend along as well.... and my mum! They've both donated a couple of times.

I started donating while at uni when they had a session and I just popped along. In the past 3 or 4 years have donated about 4 times... but have tried 6 times and wasn't allowed the last 2 times :( i was very sad (one I had been to South America and you need to leave it 6 months between visiting South America and donating, and the next refusal was cos my iron was too low)Health Question & Answer

I would love to give blood but they wont let me give it!!

i went to donate and just before she got her needle ready she asked me to pop on the scales and confirmed that i am too under weight to donate, apparently they wont touch anyone who weights under 7 an a half stone (im very petite, not ill or starving myself)

The nurse said that if she would have taken a pint of blood from me then i would collapse by the time i got out the centre, i asked 'well cant you just take half a pint then.?' but she still wouldn't do it.

I felt really disappointed not being able to donate but at least i got loads of biscuits. LOL Health Question & Answer

I am on the blood doner list but am yet to give blood this year as I am waiting for the year on my newest piercing to end...
I donate because I've been brought up to believe that I should.
Both my parents can't give blood and both have fairley rare blood types (about only 7% of uk population have it) as Is mine.Health Question & Answer

Yes every one who can should give blood regularly

Ive seen so Many people who have been severely injured and without transfusions they would have died.

You never know the minute you might need it your self from an accident at work car accident or act of terrorism.

So if you can please do it only takes a short time and you get to meet interesting people and a nice cup of tea.Health Question & Answer

Yes, whenever I can. (My blood count is borderline and sometimes I don't make the cut-off point.) I am a universal donor (O+) and also a pediatric donor. I have never been exposed to CMV so I can donate for newborns.

It's an easy way to help a lot of people. And since I have no social life, I haven't been exposed to a lot of things that would prevent me from donating. LOL.Health Question & Answer

No because I'm not old enough yet
And, i pass out in hospitals and at the sight of blood and needles
I don't think that they would want a girl lying on their floor while their waiting for other people to come in.
I'm so bad that I went with my friend when she got her ears pierced and i passed out in the middle of Claire's accessoriesHealth Question & Answer

I do well I did now I am pregnant so I can't I think it is a good thing because you save peoples lives and it is a simple thing that you can do to make a big difference in someones life I know that I want others to donate as well just incase it were me...or my child I donate for you!!!Health Question & Answer

I don't because at the sight of blood I pass out, I have low blood sugar so i feel faint if i don't pass out. and generally anything medical scares me because I had a large heart operation when i was younger and spent a lot of my childhood in the hospital.Health Question & Answer

No, I take drugs that prevent me from doing so (nothing recreational or illegal, just blood thinners).

Some countries stop you from giving blood if you have been in the UK in the past 5 years, due to BSE. I think NZ and Oz are included in this.Health Question & Answer

I do as much as i'm allowed (have to wait till December now as went to Thailand over summer).

It's such a small thing which can help so many people, i'd struggle to think of a reason why everyone shouldn't do itHealth Question & Answer

I haven't in a very long time. I don't mind needles and would love to donate more I just don't have the time. I don't need coupons or specials, I just want it to be more convenient.Health Question & Answer

I never had donated blood. But, I already expererienced blood transfusion when I was ill with dengue fever. I thanked all the people who donated blood because without them I may no longer be able to read and answer this question.Health Question & Answer

I made over 60 donations in my lifetime. I'm considered too old now. It's painless and apart from the so-so tea and biscuit you get a good feeling knowing that you might have helped to save a life. Health Question & Answer
