Question: Do I need a Dr. or Specialist for this.?
I have a 3 1/2 year old hemotoma on my upper leg, it has been drained and x-rayed when it happened, but occationally, it hurts like needles stabbing my bone.
There is still a mass in that area, looks like really bad celulite anyway..... I don't know if this is something my regular dr can fix or do I need a specilist and if I need a specialist, what would that title be called.? Like you have your ears nose and throat specialist, but I don't know what this ones title would be.Health Question & Answer

See a GENERAL SURGEON.
Not sure what it is, but probably has become a well-organized abscess, which is impinging on nerve, muscle and/or bone.
He will probably excise it (cut it out) right in his office, then send to pathology for microscopic examination. (This is required in most states.)
(A "family doctor" won't touch it - no training for it. He will just bill you for the visit, then send you to a general surgeon anyway! At least that is what he SHOULD do.)
