Masturbation might be an addiction for some people. There is nothing about masturbation that inherently makes it an addiction. If a person masturbates compulsively in inappropriate circumstances despite problems, such as HAVING to masturbate in front of the class or other such inappropriate circumstances, everyday, despite repeated punishment, being suspended etc, that could be interpreted as an addictive behavior. If a person masturbates compulsively in such a way as to cause damage and can't stop long enough to heal, that might be addiction. Masturbating privately daily or several times daily or whatever is quite normal. Defining that as addictive behavior is incorrect and damaging itself as that definition causes the entire "problem" which otherwise doesn't exist. Taking a drink a day doesn't make a person an alcoholic. When alcohol controls their life it's an addiction.Health Question & Answer
you can either consciously or subconsciously convince yourself that you need masturbating as sustenance, when this is obviously untrue. during masturbation/sex and orgasm, your brain releases endorphins which make you feel good, so sex and masturbation addictions can arise.Health Question & Answer
