I have anxiety about not taking my pain medication. Lortab 10?!

Question: I have anxiety about not taking my pain medication. Lortab 10.?
I have two really bad knees and hips due to being a dancer and after an almost fatal car accident that almost took my life. I have had surgeries on my right knee and need on on the left. Well I found out I was pregnant and I stopped taking the Lortab 10. I have been on them for a year in a half and took six a day. I quit cold turkey. Im miserable, dirraehea, muscle aches, and nausea. Cannot sleep for the life of me. I do not want to take the pill for the sake of the baby. Even though both doctors said it was okay and that I should only take 3 a day. Has anyone had occasions with withdrawls and the anxiety that goes along with it. I feel like I wanna die and I dont want the baby to be effected by this.Health Question & Answer

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....

I take Lortab 10 for my leg pain and have been doing that for a couple years. Sometimes I take too many and then run out before I can get more. The withdrawal is only 3-4 days bad and then a few more days of less severe problems. It is really not a problem compared to other withdrawals such as alcohol or morphine.
