A lot of it depends on how long you've had it in. It's recommended to leave the original bar in for 2 weeks. also, it depends on the webbing in your tongue. Some people have thick webbing in their tongue and the piercing can grow back quickly. I've had my tongue ring in for years, but if I take it out for more than a week, I have to force it back through. However, my best friend took her tongue ring out after a year and two years later can still slip it back in with no problem.

also... uhmm... I'd be worried about him not wearing gloves. Having someones unsanitized hands in your mouth should have set off a warning. Yes, that could cause an infection, but if you're taking care of your piercing it shouldn't be a problem. They suggest using mouthwash regularly, such as Biotene and that'll kill the bacteria that could cause an infection.

So if its a fairly new piercing, the pain probably isn't a big deal. Remember, you have a gaping hole in your tongue, your body is trying to heal. Unless you want to delay the healing process (which can take months) you should probably keep the ring in and be sure to take proper care of it.

Was this guy a friend or a professional.?
if pro, just make sure you keep using your regular cleaning regimen, and it probably only hurt because it probably because it had already closed half way and he had to shove it through.
If it was a friend and has only done this kind of thing a couple of times, you are at higher risk for infection. I had my friend do my lip and i thought you know, she's done this before, but it was getting worse and worse and i took it out and i'm glad i did because i'm pretty sure that it was infected.
anywho if the problem persists i would just take it out.
Biotene is the best mouthwash to use.Health Question & Answer

when a piercing starts to close you get scar tissue this happens with the tongue very quickly. It hurts more to pierce through scar tissue than the first piercing. Its totally normal that it would be more painful this time.If the pain doesn't subside or gets really bad you may want to see a doctor, but its probably ok.I would be concerned about trusting someone who didn't wear gloves.Your probably not at a huge risk for infection just take good care of it.Health Question & Answer

well with ant piercing you are at risk of infection, but I'm sure when you took it out, you wern't wearing gloves were you.? So I wouldn't worry a lot about that. Tongue piercings grow over sooo fast, it takes hardly any time at all. He just had to use force to get it back in is all, as long as it dont continue hurting for weeks or start oozing, I think you'll be okHealth Question & Answer

You are at risk of an infection but he did not do anything bad; the hole has not had enough time to develop so when you took it out it began healing. However he should not have touched it without gloves and this may give you an infection.Health Question & Answer

First off if your a guy than you shouldn't have piercings in any part of your body. That is only for the women. Second, especially not on your tongue. Last it sounds like he had sex with you instead of pierced your tongue. No More Guys with piercings understand me people.Health Question & Answer
