A friendly word of advice - I know I am not your parent - but hear me out; ask the people who are doing the proceedure if there is a serious risk of infection; there are some very deadly infections that require more than just a little antibiotic; I was going to let my daughter have her ears pierced all the way up the sides of her ears, and we discovered that piercings in this areas were very dangerous.
The mouth has a lot of germs, and these apparatus have to be removed when taking films etc; ask others if it is painful to have them removed - never mind having them put in...
Lastly, I know many young people do not consider this as a negative consequence; but it is difficult to find a place of employment that will take you seriously; especially if it is a public job; I have been waited on by young adults with tongue piercings where it was very difficult to understand what they were saying, or get passed looking at the piercings on their face; One day you may wish you did not have these piercings and may have scarring as a result - Just some food for thought -Health Question & Answer

omg no it dont! dont listen to anyone who says it does. I have my monroe done. I have my right side done. I HAD my left done and i did it myself. With a safety pin. (NO PAIN) i numbed it by puttin a popsicle on my cheek. Then i got infected to i let it heal then did it again. But i thought it was better professionally done so i got the right done. It does not hurt at all. I laughed.

So tell yourself it wont and it wont. And P.S. a monroe is around your mouth just like your lip and they use a needle just like anythingesle. I watched my 13 year old have a 14 gauge needle shoved through her lip and she never flinched. It really depends on the person. Some people have a higher tolerance than others.
