howcome its only year eights that get them.

Ask an adult (parent/mom/carer/auntie/teacher/sister) to explain more about it.
You will get yours so dont worry. The government is giving the injection to girls only of a certain age first. Once they have all had theirs there will be a "catch up" programme to give it to all other girls too.
You wont get cancer in the mean time. This injection is to protect you when you are a woman so dont worry, there is no rush. It is important that you have this eventually though.Health Question & Answer
