Some over the counter medications that may help include DayQuil/Nyquil Sinus liquicaps, and there are also medications available like Sudafed PE which are made specifically for sinus headaches. I would recommend trying these as they may help more specifically target your problem, as medications like Advil and Tylenol are for general pain.

In general to make your sinuses feel better, try taking a nice hot shower before bed which will help moisten your sinuses and in general will usually make you feel better. It can help alleviate painful sinus pressure.

Hot compresses can also help alleviate the pain and pressure associated with sinus problems.

In addition drinking tea, especially elderflower tea, has been associated with helping with colds and sinus problems. They are naturally good for you, and the hot steam can help with sinus pressure.

Well maybe its time to change your doctor. Maybe you need someone who specializes on treating nose thingys!Health Question & Answer

I usually use a decongestant with something in it for sinus headache, when the pressure is very painful. But there are other little things that also provide some relief:

I sleep with a humidifier in my room. The moisture in the air helps my sinuses a lot.

Sometimes, I use Vicks vapors, which are soothing. There are several varieties, and I've used them all: one that works with my humidifier, the rub kind, and an inhaler kind that I carry in my purse all the time.

Before I had my humidifier, every morning when I woke up, I would turn the shower on 100% hot, and not get in, but let the bathroom get steamy. It doesn't last all day, but provides a few minutes of relief. For me, the mornings are the worst.Health Question & Answer
