Question: Does vitamin C help prevent colds and nose bleeds.?
And I am 14 and i am taking 1 tablet of 500MG of vitamin C a day is that bad.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Extra vitamin C will boost your immune system so you will get fewer colds and when you do they will be less severe. It won't prevent nose bleeding.

Nose bleeding can be caused by a deficiency of vitamin K. There is plenty of vitamin K in broccoli and spinach.Health Question & Answer

Vitamin C is arguably one of the best Vitamins

Taking 500MG of vitamin C is good for you. Vitamin C is essential to develop & maintain scar tissue, blood vessels, muscles and cartilage. Vitamin C gives the body more energy and it aids in fighting off infections or colds. It acts as an anti oxident. Given in high dosages it aids in fighting off diseases.

Vitamin C is water soluble and I would take 500MG twice a day.
You can take more but watch your stool. If it's softer then you are at your maximum allowance. Take with food because it will give you indigestion. Caffeine depletes Vitamin C.Health Question & Answer

Vit C does many important things for our bodies-way too many to mention here, one of which is bolstering our immune systems and helping to prevent colds or their severity.

Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin-which means any excess passes thru-which is why it is fairly safe to take as a supplement.

Your body cannot store C-and it has a half life- and-since you do best with it in your system at all times- it should be taken several times a day-not a large dose at once. e.g If you take 500 in one hour you are down to 250 in one hour down to 125 etc. So-take 500 mg 3X a day at breakfast/lunch/dinner

Humans do not make their own c, so it must be gotten thru food or supplements-and most foods that we eat do not give us the proper amounts soooooooooooo- long story short- taking it is a very good idea for almost everyone- and as it is water soluble-you have everything to gain and very little to lose.

This opinion has not been approved by the FDA which as far as I am concerned means nothing and since it cannot be patented it will not be
studied seriously by drug companies.

I know this was longer than you probably wanted-but I wanted you to have enough info to know what you are doing and why you are doing it.
