Lip infection, or normal ?!

Question: Lip infection, or normal .?

I got my lip peirced 2 days ago, and its swollen quite a bit, puffy and red. There is white on the inside of my lip but I'm not sure if its the skin from the salt water or an infection. Please give me advice on whats best.

I can't view your "gross up close" photo, but some swelling is a normal reaction. It's true that ice will help to decrease swelling and may help with pain. If you think it's starting to get infected, make sure you're cleaning it as you were (hopefully) instructed, and put some moist heat on it (like a wet wash cloth warmed in the microwave) a few times a day. That'll help increase circulation to it and draw the infection out. Don't let it get too out of control before going to see a doctor. Health Question & Answer

At the moment, it doesn't look infected. If it were secreting puss, hurting a lot, and displaying other symptoms like you'd see if a wound was infected (because that's what a piercing essentially is), then it's definitely infected.
