Ear plugs at concerts?!

Question: Ear plugs at concerts.?
Ok so I go to a lot of concerts and after the one I went to a few days ago, I have noticed that my ears are STILL ringing. So I'm getting really freaked out about my hearing, I already have bad hear and don't wanna go deaf by age 18.

So my question is... if I wear earplugs will the sound be muffled, and not sound as well as it would without earplugs.?

and will I still be able to talk to people at the show [[I go to shows where there is a pit, so end up talking to all the people around you]] or will they just sound like "a;lskdjf;alkj" .?

oh and I don't really care about looking like an idiot because if I go deaf then I won't be able to listen the music later on which would suck majorly

so help me out folks. Health Question & Answer

I know just what you mean - for years I have stuffed a wad of Kleenex in my ears at loud concerts to bring the sound down to a bearable level. Frankly, even if this does muffle the sound, I think it is a price worth paying (I'm 55 now and have perfect hearing so it must have worked!)

As for talking to people near you, that's pretty difficult if the music is so loud anyway! You might find real "ear-plugs" do muffle it too much - if so, try the Kleenex trick!

Keep digging the music!
