How long does it take for a yellow jacket sting to heal?!

Question: How long does it take for a yellow jacket sting to heal.?
So... I got attacked by a swarm of yellow jacket's a week ago and recieved 12+ stings. The pain has stopped but now there are fairly large lumps (about the size of a half dollar coin) under my skin. The lumps are extremly itchy and are often red.

As far as I know I am not allergic to bee stings - and I had no major allergic reaction to the stings immediatly after they happened.

*note: They started itching the day after the stings occured - and I did scratch them (i couldnt help it - they were so itchy that i would have gone insane if i hadn't scratched them.)

Is this a part of the normal healing process of yellow jacket stings, or should I have this checked out.?Health Question & Answer

If the bumps still remain there after a week, I would see a doctor to make sure its not a reaction. Health Question & Answer
