Some people have a window of time that they need to fall asleep or they can't. You say that most of the time you can't fall asleep on weekends... well go to sleep at the same time that you do on weekdays. (I know it sucks, but try it.) also, tell yourself that you can sleep. Make yourself believe it.

There are two techniques that I have found are best when I am trying to get to sleep. The first works best when your mind is racing. Think of something that is pleasant to you... a flower, snow in the mountains... it can be anything. Once you have that in your mind, focus on your breathing... take deep breaths and release all of your energy. Whenever your mind wanders, go right back to that picture. Don't let yourself think of anything else.

The second technique is to help your relax. Start at your head and tighten and relax ever single muscle that you can. Move downwards on your body until you get to your toes. Tighten and relax them until your whole body is completely relaxed. Just feel yourself fall into your bed. The most comfortable I have ever been is after doing this exercise.

If none of this works, have your mom pick you up some Melatonin. It is a natural medicine that your body actually creates itself. It is non habit forming, and works great for most people. Try it out.

I hope you the best in falling asleep... if you have any questions, please IM or email me =)Health Question & Answer
