I have sleeping problems....help!?!?!

Question: I have sleeping problems....help!.?!.?
I have a weird sleeping schedule... it's almost like I have insomnia, but I don't. Or maybe I do.? I'm confused.

I sleep during the day and can't sleep at night. This would be an obvious answer but it's not. I know most of you would say "Just don't sleep during the day and you will fall asleep at night" But it's hard for me to go a day without taking a nap.

Even if I go to bed early, wake up refreshed, eat well and have moderate activity, I can't go the day without a nap! If I don't, I feel sick and/or moody.
At night, I will be dead-tired but can't seem to shut my eyes. I can't sleep at night..I constantly toss and turn (literally) and get too hot or get too cold.

Any ideas on how to sleep easier at night.? I've taken too many nyquils and bennadryls to help me sleep... I know that's horrible but it has become a problem.Health Question & Answer

I have the same problem as well, but some things have helped me. Thanks for posting this question. I think that it has a lot to do with any stress you have about things you're worried about. Constant worry can make you not sleep well at all. It's best if you try to read something boring before you go to bed, exercise (if you're not too tired), watch the most boring things you can find on tv, and most of the time it'll help you fall to sleep. A lot of people say that warm milk can make you sleepy, so that might help as well.

It might be insomnia, I'm not sure. Symptoms of insomnia are more escalated than a person who's stayed up all night one night and can't get back on schedule. You'd have to see a psychiatrist or doctor to be diagnosed for that, but definitely talk to someone if it continues or gets worse.Health Question & Answer

I've gotten this a bit as I get older - sleep maybe 4 hours a night, I'm bright in the morning, but sometimes get dead tired at about 4pm and want to nap.

If you need a nap maybe you aren't getting a long enough block of time when you do sleep. Try and increase that, even if you are sleeping during the day. And avoid stimulants like caffiene and sugar completely for a week and see if it makes any difference.

Otherwise just sleep when you feel tired and get a hobby to keep you occupied at night! Health Question & Answer

Wooa! I heard my mum and aunt said bout this before. My aunt got a problem like this. When I asked my mum, she answered 'it was sleeping disorder' or 'aunt faith is like an owl' or somethin like that.

On my opinion, don't sleep is the best way. You can't force yourself to sleep.

I got imsomnia, by the way. And its not really bad, coz at nightime, my mum allows me to hangout on party or dance club.Health Question & Answer

exersize the inter day non stop swim ski do everything you can to keep active until 10:30 then crash wake up at 6:00 then make it through the next day with caffene until 9:30pm (or when ever you want)
and sleep in as long as possible. and then you should be able to make it though the next day without a nap Health Question & Answer

Princess,
Time your naps during the day (30 minutes should be sufficient). If you need help sleeping at night, try dramamine (2 tablets). Nyquil contains alcohol, which could be a reason you are unable to sleep at night, and benadryl is an antihistamine, which means it has a short half life (it will stop working after two or three nights in a row.

Hope this helps. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

yea that's how i am too. in fact im doing it right now. if i were you i'd get a book that i'd probably never finish and try reading it. that's just me. i love reading but there are just some books i can't seem to get. it may not be reading for you but maybe like music or taking an herbal tea or something. just something that it'll make you tired for the meantime then you just fall asleep with out you even knowing it.

from what you've told it seems as simple as your body clock being in the wrong timezone. the best thing i could recomend is trying to do what you sayed, stay awake all day.

You can probably do this by doing something that keeps you entertained and active throughout the day.Health Question & Answer

If you believe in God take his name and go to sleep or take the name of your best friend like meHealth Question & Answer

I'm right there with ya. Let me know if you find a solution to this. >< Sorry I can't be of help.Health Question & Answer

You have to stop taking the pills and Nyquil it will damage your organs. Plus they put bad stuff in there that might even keep you awake or disrupt your sleep.

INSTEAD You can take Melatonin it's completely natural. You can get it at Lassen's or any natural or Whole Food store and it's all natural, works great too! You don't need a prescription for this however you should make sure you are not allergic to it so talk with your doctor. It's ranges roughly from $8-12 bucks. Just take one before bed and it melts under your tongue, works for me in 15 minutes :)

hope I helped!Health Question & Answer

I swear I have slightly the same problem.
It's so hard for me to go to sleep at night.
That is sort of why I'm up at 3:30 a.m. and
there's absolutely no way I can fall asleep.
I would say DO NOT take the Nyquil or
Bennadryls any more. They could harm
your system if you take them constantly.

I would say see your doctor and tell him/her
you think you need to see a Sleep Pathologist.
They may be able to help you get on a medication
that will help you stay up during the day with out
a nap and with out being moody or sick, and also
to sleep better during the night.

I hope I helped. <3Health Question & Answer

what type of job do you have, day shift or night shift.?
--------------------------------------...
its 1234am here at alaska,
try this, i had that kind of problem before, up all night and sleep during the day,
now that your still up and probably will stay up all morning, continue to keep yourself awake even if you really want to take a nap,
what i mean is stay up all morning and all day and into the early evening and try and fall asleep between 1000pm and 1200mid and get up in the morning about 600am-615am and don't take a nap throughout the whole day even if your tired, keep yourself busy besides taking a nap, might mess up your sleep schedule,
if it happens again, that you sleep during the day and stay up at night, just repeat what i just typed,
and last whatever your having to have for snacks like something that has caffine or if sugar gets you going avoid all that!!!
hope that helps!Health Question & Answer
