well, you need to ask your school's advisor about this. They probably have an RN to BSN program that is for RN's only. But they should also have a regular BSN program for folks starting from scratch. They usually require you take gen ed's before you apply to the nursing major. These classes include microbiology, anatomy and physiology, and some others. It takes about 2 years full time to complete these. The last two years are spent on the nursing part. You can also take a one year course and become an LPN. Most community colleges offer this or a vo tech school. Then you could take a two year program and become an RN. There are alot of programs to take you from being one sort of nurse to another and it can be very confusing. Maybe you should get a job as a nurses's aide first to see if you can handle this sort of work. It is very stressful and there are days I wonder why I do this. However, it can be very worthwhile and the pay is good. I teach LPN school if you have any other questions.Health Question & Answer

Can you copy/paste exactly what it says.? You can get into a vocational school to be a nurse. Here you wont have to take extra classes, like Humanities etc- you can just focus on nursing. Look for vocational and/or technical schools. Their programs last 10-14 months of classes. You get your LPN before your RN. So Im doubtful youd have to already have your RN. Why not call the department and ask them.? They may be able to clarify more for you. Health Question & Answer
