Rou, believe me, when you're eating, other people aren't watching you! They're enjoying their own food. You have to get over that. Just enjoy eating with your friends, (and chew with your mouth closed! lol) What's more fun than going out for pizza with friends.?
Eventually you're going to go out on dates to nice restaurants. You don't want to miss all that fun. Just remember, they're not watching you, so there's no reason to feel uncomfortable. Eating is one of the great pleasures in life. :)Health Question & Answer

This is normal; I don't really like to eat in front of people either. The main thing to realize is that the people you are around are probably not watching you that closely. We being human beings like to think that everybody is watching us and that everybody is focused on us, but the reality is, most of the time they're not. Keep in mind if they are eating too, they are probably focused on their food...or they may feel uncomfortable eating around you...so don't worry about it.Health Question & Answer

It's pretty common though not 100% normal. But who is.?

I'd do some introspection, like maybe think about WHY it makes you uncomfortable (are you worried about what they'll think.?) and see if it's something you can work to overcome (maybe you could reassure yourself that no-one's really paying attention to the way you eat etc - do YOU think anything bad about other people when you see them eat.? No.)

Stuff like that can lead to (or be a sign of) anxiety disorders (eg some people with social anxiety don't like being around others, some don't like talking in front of people, and others don't like eating in front of people).

If it gets worse, I'd bring it up with your Doc just to be safe :)Health Question & Answer

You sound self-conscious. Not uncommon for girls (especially teens). It isn't "healthy", per se, but it isn't anything to be concerned about at this point. If you avoid eating around others, that's when it becomes dangerous (leading to bulimia and/or anorexia).

Do eat normal, healthy meals regularly- regardless of who you're with. Just keep doing what you're doing now, and try to let go of that anxiety when it hits. Take a deep breath, imagine something peaceful to get through that moment, and keep eating healthily. Health Question & Answer

It's normal, a lot of people feel uncomfortable doing that. But, really there's no reason to be. Many people get self-conscious while eating but if you look around, everyone looks the same when they eat - we all get food on our lips, we all drop stuff, we all have to open wide to put the food in, etc...just look around at other people eat and you will soon see that they are just like you!

loads of people have this. i did once, i didn't like eating in front of my boyfriend, but i did a couple of times now im fine with it.

i was just scared that id get something around my chops that hed laugh at me at or something in my teeth, but its fine, don't feel uncomfortable, because that's a sign of weakness, you need to be more confident :)Health Question & Answer

well its actually not really normal. you should be comfortable in your own skin and you shouldn't care how people view you so its not normal but maybe you need to see a doctor about this. are you insecure.?

(i'm sorry this is getting very personal. sorry about that.)

xxHealth Question & Answer

Completely normal! My sister was the same way. It's probably just shyness is all.

I'm not too sure on how to conquer that fear, but just remember, eating is normal, everyone does it. So why should it matter if you do it infront of other people.? :)

Health Question & Answer

My sister and I were the same way, but we just got over it I guess.Health Question & Answer
