Question: Should I do anything about the smokers/drug users in my class.?
I know a few alcoholics(and if i heard correctly, they're also marijuana users) that I have the same class with. This really worries me because they're constantly talking about the "best" ways to smoke their weed or how to hide their alcohol when they're going to homecoming. It's sad that they're even trying to introduce their other friends to the drugs.
I know this is a common problem at pretty much all high schools and even among some of my friends. A "friend" the other day came to ask if I wanted to get high during homecoming. I told her that I thought smokers were gross and that I didn't want to be looked upon as someone gross. Was this too harsh of an answer.?

No, your answer to your friend was definitely not harsh. If they are a true friend, they should understand and respect your opinion.
As for "doing something about it", my advice would to be just to steer clear of the whole situation, stay out of it. It will only put you in a very unnecessary situation. Plus, you already said they scare you, so you probably shouldn't get in any trouble with them.
And I know that you want to help them, but you can only do so much. For most it will just be a phase, yet unfortunately for some they will never learn.

Your going to deal with this your hole life. Your going to be put in situations where the other person is doing something bad and you know about it. It all depends on how you want to handle it. Personally for me I wouldn't do anything for I wouldn't want to deal with High School drama it sucks we all know. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! You already know that is the right thing to do! You just say NO! A friend does not ask if you want to get high with them. Who cares what they think of you, everyone that knows them thinks the same thing about them even if they are not brave enough to say it! Just say "No Thanks" to offers to use substances. If they make you too uncomfortable, avoid them. Do not get drawn into their problems/drama. Drug users are very manipulative. Don't let the screw up your life. Keep to your goals and move forward. You can not save the world. I graduated high school in 1972. A number of my friends, even from childhood, started using heroin. Nothing anyone could do would stop them. It can be painful, but cut them out of your life. Hopefully, most young people want to be healthy and sane. I dont think you should really get involved. Maybe you can start a group or a club to try to help people get out of drugs and make good choices. If one of your best friends start you should try to persuade them to stop. They will get hurt if they keep on doing this. you should tell someone about it like maybe one of your parents or something and see what they think. Cos i know you could be in a pretty sticky situation if you told someone something that them people didnt like and they start doing stuff you dont like to you.
