Question: I have super severe problem....?
I'm in the play at my school. Fun fun. I'm in high school, though, so the cast parties aren't so innocent any more, but seriously, Alcohol.? I'm not going, because I don't want to rat out or risk drinking (I suffer from some chronic depression, never know how alcohol will effect me). What on earth should I do. I rat out, everyone knows it's me, I'm a freshman, so I'll be branded for my high school life as a squealer. Help me, please... Health Question & Answer

You don't have to rat any one out because it is not your choice to have the party nor is it your position to "tattle" on them. I am extremely proud of you for standing up for your beliefs and knowing that it is not good for you to do that. That in itself is a very mature decision. As long as you don't have to participate in the party, you don't have to say anything. Maybe you should try talking to some of your peers and see if they woudl like to go to dinner or see a movie instead. Some might not agree but at least try. Hope this helps. Don't go if you really feel it's necessary to not only not partake in alcohol but stick your nose in where it doesn't belong and play the police with your friends because you haven't moved past the "good vs. bad" stage of reasoning yet but should have 9 years ago according to Lev Vygotsky's model of development.Health Question & Answer
