Why did I cough up some blood?!

Question: Why did I cough up some blood.?
When I was sitting in my history class yesterday I started coughing a lot, so I went to get a tissue and cough into that. I looked at it, and it was covered in this thick, dark-red blood. I just threw the tissue away and didn't say anything because I don't like drawing attention to myself (not like there's something the teacher could've done anyways).

I've had a cough for the last few weeks, but other than that I feel fine. Is there something wrong with me.? If so, what.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You have blood vessels in your throat that are near the surface. You might have ruptured one with your coughing. I would still go see a doctor about that cough, there must be something irritating your throat and/ or lungs to keep you coughing. Good Luck! :)Health Question & Answer
