Your white blood cell count is slightly elevated. All this means is that your body may be fighting a minor infection, such as a cold virus or maybe a small cut on your hand. The amount of extra white blood cells is so slight that I wouldn't worry about it, but I would repeat the test in a few weeks just to make sure that the test returns back to normal. It may be worth mentioning, but if you smoke, this could also effect your WBC's.Health Question & Answer

My WBC Count was 12000 last month and the doctor had told me it is the upper limit of normal. In case of leukaemia, WBC count is generally more than 30000. So don't worry, just consult another doctor if you are scared.Health Question & Answer

Normal values are 5,000-10,000, but a slight increase of 1,000 to 5,000 won't be such cause for alarm. Probably you have an infection that the body is fighting thus an increase in the production of WBC. Health Question & Answer
