How long can a human being be exposed to temperatures over 100o Celsius before dieing?!

Question: How long can a human being be exposed to temperatures over 100o Celsius before dieing.?
I'm making a short movie where people can't come out to direct sunlight or their skin will burn and they would die in seconds. would this be plausible.? Would living in this world without our ozone layer kill us from temperature.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Not long, the skin would start burning/cooking (think of dropping a piece of meat into a pot of boiling water). The main killer with severe burns is dehydration. Once the skin is gone, your body is unable to retain moisture.

It is plausible. The sun/other stars give off massive amounts of radiation that could kill people. As you stated the ozone layer does offer some protection. How long a person could survive is based on the strength of the radiation.

Your making a sci-fi film anyways, have fun with it. Do what you like.

FYI... The question asked about 100 degree Celsius (C) (the boiling point of water) I you are thinking Fahrenheit (F). 100 degree C is about 112 degrees F higher than 100 degree F.Health Question & Answer

Humans can survive in the shade indefinitely in a desert at 100 degrees as long as there is plenty of water to drink. This is because we sweat and the evaporation of the water cools us down.

If the ozone layer was gone it wouldn't really make the Earth into a blazing inferno. Most of the sun's heat comes through as other wavelengths of light either way the temperature wouldn't change that much. But a short amount of time in the sun would cause a really bad sunburn. Not to mention disastrous ecological consequences and problems with the food supply.Health Question & Answer

That sounds a little over dramatised but interesting

Good luck with it.Health Question & Answer
