Would this be considered an eating disorder?!

Question: Would this be considered an eating disorder.?
eating once a day, but eating a lot at that one moment of the day. like a salad, sandwich made of tuna and vegetables, 2-3 cookies, and a small plate of pasta.
starving oneself the rest of the day, and drinking, juice or water, or eating an apple or an orange to curve one's apetite.
if defacation doesn't happen within that day, taking tons of laxatives to make defacation possible.
would this be considered an eating disorder.?

Answers:
idk if it would technically be an eating disorder with a name and all that, but it certainly isnt healthy. without the laxatives, the eating pattern itself wouldnt be much of a concern. some people just dont get hungry that often. but if its intentionally starvation then thats a concern. the laxatives though are more of a concern because most people dont poop everyday. the laxatives show extreme "poop-consciousness" which could be associated with the reasons bulimics puke. also, eating one large meal a day will slow the metabolism down and actually encourage weight gain. overall, a technical eating disorder or not, the view on eating as a whole needs to be changed. Health Question & Answer

I know that there are a lot of junior therapists ready to give you answers. First, I am sure there are people who think you are bulemic and that you are bingeing once a day. For it to be a binge you need to be eating at least 5000 calories. It does not sound like you are doing this. Second, for it to be bulemia you would have to engage in this behavior at least twice a week. The laxatives are a red flag but I am not sure why you are taking them. Do you have a disturbing unhealthy eating pattern.? Yes. Do you meet the criteria for bulemia.? No. Health Question & Answer

Maybe not the one meal but definitely the laxatives and you can become dependent upon them..Best to eat small meals a few time a day than one big one. You don't want to slow down your metabolism by and burn less calories because your body thinks it is starving. I would suggest you increase the amount of fruits and veggies in your diet along with plenty of water. Very important ....also,,,,no more laxatives ok.Health Question & Answer
