i think this makes it into one of the weirder qs on answersHealth Question & Answer

water sources near cemeteries are normally quite safe because a human body is buried only six feet deep, while water wells draw from thousands of feet below the surface. Even if your water comes from a lake or stream near the cemetery, it is filtered through the city water supply before it makes it into your glass.

You are not drinking dead people.

The only times it would be unsafe to drink the water is in some foreign countries, where you would be warned by travel alerts, or where there has recently been an outbreak of typhoid or cholera and bodies buried without proper treatment.
