Should I take her to the hospital?!

Question: Should I take her to the hospital.?
My 8 year old sister has been throwing up since early this morning. She throws up everything she eats or drink. Now she is throwing up stomach acid. The last time I checked her temperature it was 101.7, and she seems to be getting warmer. I don't know if I should take her to the hospital or not.? Health Question & Answer

I'd take her in. It's better to be safe than sorry. She's young, and throwing up that much could be dangerous. She's probably dehydrated. Good luck, she'll get better soon!Health Question & Answer

Kids get sick a lot because their immune systems are just beginning to develop. Try to get her to drink as much fluids as you can. Preferably, Gatorade. It has the electrolytes that she is losing when she throws up. Keep a cool wet wash cloth on her forehead. Call her pediatrician as soon as you can. If her symptoms get worse, take her to the emergency room, better safe than sorry. Hope she gets better soon!Health Question & Answer

call your doctor first. you can give her tylenol and advil following the directions for her age. switching the tylenol and advil back and forth that helps with a fever. try to make sure she takes in water or fluids. you do know that a fever of 104. needs to be seen by a doctor.
i would definitely call her doctor though and ask for advice. it is getting time for some of the REAL FLU out there. she is young so call the doctor for advice. if he is not open listen to the message machine. they had a doctor on call. get that phone number leave a message with the answering service somone one a doctor will call you back.
good luck Health Question & Answer

Yes I think you should. That happend to me though, when I was 7, and it turned out I just had a fever and was dehydrated. Make her drink gatorade if you have, if not, make sure she drinks as much fluids as possible. Make sure she can rest and if shes still feeling like this and the temp doesnt go down, take her to the hospital. I'd rather be safe then sorry though, so I'd take her in about an hour or so if shes not any better! Good luck! I'm sure she'll b fine! :)Health Question & Answer

If you could just get a spoonful of Gatorade down her every few minutes it would help.

She can get in a tub of luke warm water to get her temp down, and it will also hydrate her skin.

The flu hit our family this week too, only we didn't have any fever.

You can call ER and talk to the nurse for instructions as to whether to take her in or not.Health Question & Answer
