STROKE.?.? Do NOT listen to the previous answer - it's completely wrong.

The uncontrollable shaking and cold feeling is from fever - your body is fighting an infection and you've developed an elevated temperature in the night. Take your temperature orally with a thermometer ASAP. If the number is 99-100, you have a low grade fever and need to keep an eye on it. If it's 101-103 you have a moderate fever and need to see a doctor in the morning, if its higher than 103.5, you should consider a trip to the ER or a phone call to a nurse on call for your regular physician. Taking your temperature will give you a clearer picture of what's going on, and help your doctor treat you, which is why it is so important to take it sooner rather than later. Make sure not to drink anything before taking an oral temperature, as it will throw off the reading.

After determining the fever level, you need to take two Advil or Tylenol to reduce it, then crawl right back in bed and go back to sleep. Drink plenty of fluids, and rest! I can tell you what I believe is going on, but you'll need to see a doctor in the morning for sure, particularly if the fever persists or gets worse.

I believe you have a likely UTI (urinary tract infection). This is usually accompanied by fever, and sometimes also by nausea, cold-like symptoms, headache, and fatigue. The number one symptom - and the red flag in your cause - is pain or burning with urination. Your doctor will run tests tomorrow to diagnose for sure, but a UTI or maybe bladder infection are the leading probable causes here. Both need antibiotics to resolve, so see your physician ASAP!

Feel better, and make that appointment!Health Question & Answer
