What does milk of magnesia do about constipation?!

Question: What does milk of magnesia do about constipation.?

i went to the doctor yesterday and he said to take milk of magnesia for my constipation...
so i did, and it didnt start working until this morning... but poop isnt coming out, dark liquid is.

does milk of magnesia turn the poop into a liquid so it can come out, or is there something wrong.?Health Question & Answer
