It depends on what was in the can.
The one I have [Dust Destroyer] contains difluoroethane, which when combusted could make HF, COF2, and several other nasties.
HF and COF2 cause nasty chemical burns, which many docs might not know how to treat; calcium gluconate is the best [I worked with HF and COF2 a lot].
I suppose PFIB, perfluoroisobutylene [150 times as toxic as HCN, cyanide gas], could be formed, but it evidently wasn't, or at least not in sufficient quantity to off you.... IF you did not see soot forming PFIB is unlikely to have formed.

Have someone look up your nose; if it is nasty looking see a doc, or if it does not get better soon. Go if your nose is bleeding. If your sense of smell is really out of whack I say see the doc.

Much depends on how much of the stuff you breathed in. The first law of toxicology is that the dose makes the poison.

If the can is still readable, or you have another, go to the manufacturer's website and contact them for suggestions, or call poison control.
I am neither a doctor nor a toxicologist, though poison control has both.

It is entirely possible that any effects are due to gases from the other stuff you were burning, that the bursting of the can merely blew them to your nose. They might be rather ugly, depending on what else you were burning.Health Question & Answer

It could have been the bitterant in the can that you inhaled.

ALOT of duster products that are used for dusting computer components with contain diflourothane or tetraflourothane and the bitterant I speak of. It is used to deter people away from inhaling the contents of the can to get a "high", but when burned is nasty smelling in every sense possible

I know that when I would burn duster back in my days of inhaling the garbage, it smelled awefully nasty, but it never gave me the symptoms that you speak of (maybe that was because I didn't inhale alot)

So, I would suggest to wait a day or 2 and see if the symptoms go away, if not, go see that doc. Fo sho!Health Question & Answer

You could have a chemical burn from the freon in the can. You may want to see your doctor if your symptoms continue.Health Question & Answer
