Why do I cough up this stuff from my throat?!
Question: Why do I cough up this stuff from my throat.?
They are these small, smelly bits of white and yellow gunk.
It's NOT from around my tongue, it's from the back of the throat.
I'm guessing it may be tonsilitis or something.
I used to have a problem where I'd cough a lot because I felt like my tonsils were choking me, and it was NOT a good feeling.
I think this is also causing bad breath in the morning!
Every now and then, it happens again.
I don't smoke/drink/etc.
Do I need to remove my tonsils.? If so, is there any negative side effects to doing so.?

you tonsils may be infected. if they are, you need antibiotics. try gargaling with some warm salt water to loosen up the gunk so you can spit it out. i had mine out when i was young, it was one of the best things that i ever did. i used to suffer from tonsillitis every winter. it was miserable!Health Question & Answer
