Question: I just slept for 20 hours. What's wrong with me.?
Hi, I'm a high school junior and i don't get alot of sleep during the week. i probably average around 5.5 hours of sleep each day then came friday night, i came home from school at like 3 pm and i simply knocked out on my bed and woke up the next day at 11 AM. Is something wrong with this.? I've been doing this for the past month on each Fridays... is something wrong!.?! thanksHealth Question & Answer

You are not getting enough sleep. You need at least 8 hours a night. Because you are not getting this during the week, your body is trying to make up for it on the weekends. This is not healthy, and can lead to more health problems down the road. Your thyroid could be affected, you could develop a mood disorder, there are all sorts of things that could be caused by lack of proper sleep. i have the same problem. during the week, i get about 6 hours a night, then on fridays, i go to bed at like 9pm and wake up at like 1pm. I think its just like that your body is trying to catch up on the sleep you lost during the week.Health Question & Answer

Nah..its fine..happens to me sometimes..by Friday I am exhausted..if nobody/nothing wakes you your body will take as much sleep as it needsHealth Question & Answer
