Question: What is the age and/or child requirement for a man to get a vasectomy.?
I know for woman they have to be 25 or have at least three kids (I think it's 25, but possibly 27). I'm not sure what the standards are for men though.

My ex-boyfriend got a vasectomy in Florida at the age of 30, but he had NO kids and was not married at the time. Took an interview with the doc and a 30 day waiting period and they did the snip, no problems. I asked & he said he takes it on a case-by-case basis, and makes a determination based on the patient's resolve.
I also know of a girl who had a very strong desire to remain childless, and with a lot of searching she found a doctor near Seattle who performed a tubal ligation on her when she was 19. It took a lot of doing- a long waiting period and a psychological evaluation before the doctor would agree to the procedure.
If you have a Planned Parenthood near you, they will do the procedure with very little pre-requisites. Plus they will adjust the cost based on your ability to pay. You being so young, married & having 3 kids already, I am sure you'd be a candidate. Good luck! Health Question & Answer

Laws may vary by state, but there is no overarching law that says you have to be a certain age or have a certain number of children. The general rule here is after two kids and/or after 25 they will perform one, but we are military so it might be different for us.
Each doctor is different so I would ask yours to see what his/her feelings are. They just don't want you to do something you will regret later and for some reason it seems they think you are too young to decide or you might change your mind if you are under 25, I guess that is their safe 'cut-off' age.
