After drinking a fair amount of alcohol mainly beer can you have a sore throat.?.? I drank a little more last night than I normally have before-not a huge drinker at all. And I woke up this morning with a terrible sore throat and it is still not any better, does this happen sometimes after a night of drinking.?.? Health Question & Answer

It is possible that the alcohol made you dehydrated, resulting in a sore throat. Did you drink water before, during, and after drinking.? I always like to have one glass of water for every two drinks (though that never happens). It was because I would smoke a lot more when I was drinking and also because when you're drunk, you don't always pay attention and put on your coat every time you go outside - in November both of these factors could spell a sore throat. Yes - drinking a lot of anything can cause a sore throat. The stronger or more acidic it is the more likely.
I wouldn't think it would be that bad from just drinking beer, though.
