Question: Why don't intensive care unit physicians want to be organ donors.? Do they know something we don't.?
Not too long ago, another poster asked on this forum, "Why wouldn't you want to be an organ donor.?"

The anthropologist Margaret Lock conducted extensive interviews with 32 physicians who worked in intensive care units, where most pronouncements of "brain death" take place. Only six of the 32 had signed their organ donor cards. According to Lock, none of the remainder could provide a convincing explanation as to why they had not.

Im not sure, but I heard and believe that when you are an organ donor, they don't waste as much time trying to save you. That way they get your organs, and sell them to other people to make more money.
