i think so yes. its the way shift workers do it. but bear in mind the best sleep u get is after dark from about 9/10pm onwards when all the cells regenrate and such like. i have heard that every hr of sleep b4 midnight is worth two after tho i dont know if thats scientifically proven.Health Question & Answer

We all have different sleep needs. Right now I sleep about 9 hours at night and if I can find the time I try to take naps. This is because I lift weight heavily and require the sleep for recovery.

However, back when I was in school and working nights, I just caught 2 hours here, 2 hours there, and I seemed to function OK.

I think the schedule you are talking about would be fine for most healthy people. Health Question & Answer

Your body can adapt to anything if you do it for a long time. 4 hours twice a day would definitely work. DaVinci used to nap for 20 minutes every 3 hours or something like that, and never slept a full 8 hours. He believed that if he did this, he would live to be an equivilant of over 100 years.Health Question & Answer

I'm sure it will. Any type of altered sleep regimen you're going to try, you need to strictly adhere to it for at least two weeks. Of course, if you really want to be extreme, you can try polyphasic sleep!Health Question & Answer
