Question: Why are pharmacists such pricks when you have prescriptions for a pill.?
I had back surgery a couple months ago and have had to be on pain medicine. I've gone to a couple of pharmacies and they're all dildos and act like your doing something wrong for getting your prescription. If you have a legitimate prescription then why do they think they have any reason to stigmatize you. The reality is pharmacists are not incredibly special and generally people who couldn't cut medical school, but they think they have some kind of power, more than a prescribing physician. Anyone else have these issues with pharmacies or am I just overthinking the whole attitudeHealth Question & Answer

well, first off, im not a pharmacist, im a pharmacy tech. I do have to agree with you, at some degree though. Personally, the pharmacists that ive worked with were all nice and understanding...but most are (or act) like pricks. But, working back there, ive seen alot...and not good things. I guess its sort of a security mesurement, as you know there are like millions of people that try to give illegitimate scripts. If they just blow off everyone who might be suspecious, then when the police have an investigation and the pharmacy didnt write a report or just seem like they never think anything of it, the phamarcy has liability...and can even get fired-sometimes have a case build up against them. or just like police for example, the police does the society good things right.? but there are so many people who hate them and even harreses them...but i can definatly see your point, but then again, think about the millions of people that try to get/sell medications. try to find a pharmacy thats a little more inviting and can still be professional. i know that the pharmacy i work at, the chain-store's number one thing is customer service...were known to have higher prices....but people are willing to pay the extra money just because we treat them better...trust me...lol, were right across the street from another pharmacy...and theres another one a few miles down. but good luck and i hope this answered your question!:)Health Question & Answer
