Can I just get reading glasses?!


Question: Can I just get reading glasses.?
I'm getting more and more headaches from eyestrain caused by staring at a computer all day. Do I need to have an eye exam, or would it suffice to just buy a pair of reading glasses.? And as far as reading glasses go, would I just get the lowest magnifying strength.? Just wanted to get some feedback before I schedule an appointment with my optometrist.

You need to get an opinion from an eye specialist, so that you are assured your only problem is strain. If you schedule a visit just before you have to renew your driver's license, the optometrist, or opthalamist, can possibly fill in a form that lets you skip the eye exam at the license bureau.
