my manager said i should have a bracelet that states i am allergic to penicillin because if i am in like a car accident and unconscious or something and they don't know i am allergic they might give it to me and i could die or something. but i thought you grew out of penicillin allergies.?Health Question & Answer

Yes wear it. If you are in an accident and said accident occured because you were very ill and passed out then they WOULD administer antibiotics if the illness required it. So to the other person that answered saying no you won't need it if in an accident, NOT TRUE! Things happen. You do not always grow out of allergies. In fact I grew up in New England eating shellfish my entire life only to have a near fatal reaction to it last year. My throat closed up. So at the age of 44 I developed an allergy. Be careful and go get a bracelet. Your life could depend on it.

Yes. You should have one, because even if you may have grown out of the allergy, it will help anyone that gives you medical treatment.
If you have to have medical treatment,this will help doctors go back in your records and know if you still have the allergy and what medications to give you in an emergency.

yes its always good to wear one because u never knows what may happen.
as for growing out of it, if a person really needs PCN (penicillin), doctors can try to desensitize a patient to it but it is done under supervision in case a patient develops a reaction to it.Health Question & Answer

im deathly alergic to it and i was never told to wear one at all not even my doctor they found out i was when i was just a baby and i never heard you growing out of being allergic to it i tried medicine i was allerdic to a long time after i found out i was and it was worseeee but it depends on the work you do i guess ive been in and out of doctor hospitals and never got it or anything else i was alergic to Health Question & Answer
