HELP! Can too much caffeine mimic like a panic attack or is something else wrong with me? Could it be anemia?!

Question: HELP! Can too much caffeine mimic like a panic attack or is something else wrong with me.? Could it be anemia.?
I'm 35 and in decent health except that I smoke and don't eat very healthy. I am at an ideal weight for my height though. I do suffer from bad depression and anxiety. The other day I was out playing with my puppies and was very happy and not the least bit "anxious". I suddenly started trembling SEVERLY like my whole body, my heart was racing, and I was drenched in sweat (my long hair felt like I just got out of the shower). I do smoke a lot and I do take Methadone (for an opiate addiction but I haven't used in a year), Xanax, and Benedryl for allergies. It seemed like a panic attack. My mom even suggested maybe I had a mild heart attack. I didn't eat much that day, could that have done it.? My guess though is that it was from caffeine because I had 5 cans of Mt. Dew within a few hours. What do you think.? I am going to go to the Dr. and have my blood sugar tested and tell them what happened.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You are NOT in good health if you smoke, don't eat healthy, take Xanax, Methadone, and Benedryl but down 5 cans of soda.

Your body needs good, nourishing food to convert to glucose in order to fuel both your body and your brain. Without it, you get depressed and confused.

also, one can of soda with sugar has the equivalent of 4 teaspoons of sugar. Five cans of soda is the same as if you sat down and ate 20 teaspoons of table sugar. Your blood sugar must be on a roller-coaster ride.

Sweetie, you are abusing your body. You really need to eat healthy and regularly, curb the caffeine, cut out sugar, and be sure your doctor is aware that you take Benedryl along with your prescribed meds.

Start over and start taking care of yourself.

Good luck to you!Health Question & Answer

Well one of the worst things about anxiety, is it can come on when you think that you are completely calm. It sounds to me like it was almost definately anxiety, possibly triggered by a lot of caffeine, or even nicotene. Nicotene is known to cause stress. Maybe you should cut down on the cigarettes as well as the coffee to avoid this happening again.Health Question & Answer

Are you trying to give yourself a heart attack.? Yeah caffeine speeds up your heart rate and makes you jittery. You need to take better care of yourself. Eat better and cut down the amount of Dew you do!Health Question & Answer

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this strange herb called "St John's Wort" - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that "learned behavior" in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!
Ok, to use Distraction: Firstly, try to....
