Sounds like Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease(GERD), or Acid Reflux, which is a condition where the liquid contents in the stomach backs up or "refluxes" into the esophagus. Health Question & Answer
It's called bad digestion. When you burp and you taste vomit, chances are you accidently vomited a little either into your esophagus or mouth.
It's really not a big deal. Sometimes it happens, and you would be hard-pressed to find a person who hasn't had that happen to them on more than 1 occassion.
It's not quite acid reflux, since that would involve the HCl in your stomach dissolving away the lining of the esophagus. Everyone gets the occassional acidic burp. You probably just ate the wrong foods.
Burps come from gases that are built up in the stomach (a side-effect of bad digestion, which is very common). If there are a lot of gases, sometimes the pressure takes a bit of the stomach contents with it up the esophagus when you burp.
Avoid eating highly-acidic foods, or foods that cause you to be gasey, and try not to drink large quantities of water while you eat (since that can cause air to enter your stomach and contribute to burping). I don't think it's cause for concern unless you begin getting hearburn, or feel a constant burning sensation down your throat.Health Question & Answer
