Question: Can damaged nerves grow again.? I have no feeling in my forehead following a car accident in August this year..?
Answers:
I was told by my physical therapist (after back surgery) that nerves do regrow, but they only grow 1/16 to 1/8 inch a day. So it takes a long time to get over it.Health Question & Answer

I had a surgery 7 years ago. Nerves that were cut did not recover. At first they hurt and then the numbness returned. My sis also had a car accident less than 2 years ago. She had a lot of damage to her face and was told she may or may not have the numbness forever.

Be glad you have no feeling as opposed to numbness. There is a difference. Numbness can drive you nuts. I have numbness in my chest and it feels like someone is pouring water down it 24/7 or that a fly is crawling on me, yet when I touch that area with my hand it feels dead, like your face after a trip to the dentist and Novocaine. People don't get that because it doesn't hurt, that it's still a big deal and very tiring.Health Question & Answer

It depends on how damaged they are...It takes around 8 mths to 1 yr for nerves to re-grow so its very possible that feeling will return to your forehead...If however this numb area is a scar then you may get sensation back in some areas but not all of it. Its quite normal for scars and areas close to them to have reduced feeling but the skin right next to them can be feeling normally.Health Question & Answer

Nerves don't regrow well as of yet (science is helping push that into a better direction). If you are lucky, they could be just pinched, which would take time to heal, aka become un-pinched. See a doctor. NO one can tell you whats going on without getting examined.Health Question & Answer
