I was very ill yesterday, couldn't get out of bed today I feel better but I am very wobbly! why?!

Question: I was very ill yesterday, couldn't get out of bed today I feel better but I am very wobbly! why.?
I had a bad stomach bug yesterday with high fever and vomiting, I couldn't get out of bed.
I feel lots better today but I am finding it hard to get around because my legs are very weak and wobbly, my hands are also shaky and I can't hold a drink without spilling it. I really don't want to go the doctors, do you think it will pass.?Health Question & Answer

You could probably do with some Diorolyte rehydration stuff - it comes in sachets from the chemist and you mix it with water. It replaces lost salts. Can you get someone to buy some for you.? If that doesn't stop the shaking, then I would phone the surgery or NHS direct. I think it is normal to feel weak and wobbly after a virus like this.
It's not a good idea to go to a doctor's surgery with a stomach bug as they are so infectious - it passes on germs to other vulnerable people (and is infectious for a couple of days after the symptoms have eased), but if you're really worried, make an appointment.Health Question & Answer

I bet you haven't eaten (or haven't eaten much) since you got ill. You have no energy, that's all.
