hehhehe brush teeth daily babe but yes still could happen, now to the other part already have the plague, aids running rapid not like above but still deadly in the end, and you could look at the problem with drugs i see that as a plague death usually happens, but now drum roll brrrrrrrrrrrr since obama elected well all suffer some type of plague/plaque LOL!!!Health Question & Answer

You mean the Plague.? There have been plagues since then.....over 100 million died in the early 1900's from the flu in the US and other parts of the world, not including millions who have died around the world from Cholera. The bubonic plague bacteria is still present to this day. It is present still on animals in the desert and in laboratory's. However, with out modern technology and medical advances, it would be nearly impossible for it to strike with such force again. Basic antibiotics are the greatest deterrent to spread. So the bubonic plague, no it wont happen again, however other plagues might. Health Question & Answer

While the above answers are essentially correct, and answer what you actually asked, I amthinking you meant is something like this possible again....?

And the answer would be, yes.

There are several viruses and several things out there for which there is no known cure. Some of them we can innoculate against so that you don't get them in the first place, but if you DO get them somehow, there is no cure for them. There are also things out there such as HIV. Same scenario. Once you have it, you have it. It cannot be cured. It can be treated, and the symptoms may even go into remission for awhile, but once you have it, it will never go away...

Could something like that spread and cause a huge number of deaths the way the plague did.? Yes it could.

The likelihood of such a scenario has been reduced by things such as improved hygene, medical technology, and multi-national agencies such as the WHO, but something virulent and fast moving could still do a large amount of damage before contained.
Health Question & Answer

You mean the plague, right.? Not plaque (haha).
With modern medicine, I highly doubt the plague can happen again. also, people aren't slaughtering cats, which contributed to the over-populous rodent population. Yes, it would be devastating if it did happen, but the world is overpopulated anyway =)Health Question & Answer

Not the Plaque, nor the Plague!
In these times, we are much more hygenic and we are not irrationally afraid of cats anymore either. During the middle ages, people thought that cats were evil and killed many of them off, then Europe became overrun with rats, spreading the disease on fleas on the rats. Health Question & Answer
