Question: Is it ok to take a second Prozac if you're having a bad day.?
I don't think my 20MG Prozac prescription is helping me much. I've been having relapses lately. I don't have insurance, so seeing a doctor is out. I got the prescription from my OB/GYN before state insurance dropped me. Just wondering if I should go ahead and double up my doses.

First, remember that it's dangerous to suddenly stop taking Prozac. So, if you are going to run out, cut back to less than two a day, then, after a week, to one a day.
But, if you have enough, it's okay to go from 20mg to 30mg, but don't jump up to 40. Most people don't start feeling improvement for about a week.
If I take an extra prozac don't feel so good, so I stick to my normal dose no matter how I am feeling.

You gotta stop that crap. Life can be fantastic. Those pills won`t solve the problem as u see. Otherwise u wouldn`t ask for a second one.
Just try to get rid of any bad thought for starter. Remember it always comes back to you. Then see if u can get yourself some more pleasure. Please your eyes with a good movie or a nice landscape. Please your nose with a nice perfume or a flower. Please your mouth with some really good food. Go to the gym a bit. Call a friend. Walk or take a trip. Life is short and u can do much better than swallowing pills. Besides, there are always others who have bigger problems but this is how life is: a school where we learn lessons and sometimes it is impossible to learn the lesson if you don`t pass through some tough exams.

I understand that you don't have insurance and seeing a doctor is out, however you really should before upping yourself. also; what are you going to do when your perscription runs out .?.? It will run out faster if you double up.

NO!! Do not take more than prescribed, ever!! Especially drugs that can alter your body's chemistry. This can easily lead to addiction. You need to find ways to cope with your depression that are healthy and natural, not be dependent on drugs to make you happy. Find a friend, tell them about your day, and go have some coffee and watch a good movie or something to distract you.Health Question & Answer
You can try taking 40 mgs. for several days if you are breaking thru the medication. However, then you will be short of meds. What will you do once you run out of meds.?
You will need to watch out for side effects like restlessness; agitation.

How would you pay for more when you run out though.? Prayer is always better. I can suggest some reading to do and meditating on this which would help if you want to trust it.
