Question: Can you fail a drug test by people smoking around you.?
I have been quit from smoking weed for nearly three months. However, people have been continuing to smoke (in a large, open room) around me. I was wondering if this could cause any or enough thc to be in my system to fail a urine test. also, could anything else cause a false positive result.? I have taken Benadryl sinus, Nyquil, Ibubrofen, and otc Heartburn pills. Will they be able to tell if these drugs caused a false positive.?Health Question & Answer

truth is No you will not get thc in your system by second hand or being in the room with people smoking it. Unless they purposely blow directly in your face several several times and you purposely try to inhale as much as possible. I once wondered the same thing, and no those over the counter meds wont do it either. I smoked for years and sneaked through many pee tests with different methods and once they caught me off guard and i failed the test and tried to use the otc excuse but they said that there is no way that happens ( they had no idea i smoked).. if you are around smoke it will stick to your hair until you wash it and can cause a positive result for thc in a hair test.. however i have seen websites that claim that some of the otc meds like the ones you described can cause a false positive but i dont think they do and i think why is because a certain amount of thc has to be in the sample in order to give a positive result and the amount of otc one would have to take in order to do that would probably make you very very sick . just my theory but i don't think you have any thing to worry about so pee confident.. no, being in the room and smelling it will not make you fail.Health Question & Answer
Of course. If you breathe in the smoke then you are smoking. Back in the 1970's the Surgeon General wasn't PC and called people who breathed in tobacco smoke from those smoking around them "involuntary smokers". This holds true for breathing in smoke from anything people around you are smoking. That's why when you try to quit smoking of any kind then you shouldn't hang around people when they smoke because you are still smoking that way.Health Question & Answer
no it can't. unless you've been in close quarters like a car with the windows up and ALOT of it is present. whatever trace amounts that you may get in a large open room are insignificant. there are two test. one. they detect the levels of metabolites. these are in higher quanities when your body is ridding itself of it. is the EMIT. it's a stick in the urine. it's cheap and will only detect a level of 50 or higher. the MS/GC test is the actual lab test. i think it detects a 10 or higher. neither should detect any second hand and to be safe, drink waterHealth Question & Answer

So, this guy lost his CDL automatically for 1 year...what a dumbazz......
I still have my driving job and take the tests at least twice a year.

Over the counter drugs cannot be detected as positive unless abused or not taken as directed.
The smoke has to reach your lungs and cutt of levels are set. It is a myth and you cannot fail it by JUST 2ND HAND SMOKE.

I dont think you can but if you go and you smell like it then they are gonna be suspisious. If I were you I would just stay away from that crowd cause if they are gonna continue smokin weed around you when your trying to quit then they arn't your real friends.Health Question & Answer
If you are inhaling enough it can be tracked. Just like you smoke it, you breath in the smoke. Same as second hand cigarette smoke. Just depends how much you're breathing in.Health Question & Answer
