Question: Is my strep coming back.?
I went to the doctor November 4th because my throat KILLED! He said it was strep. So he prescibed my amoxcillan and said take it in the morning and night for 10 days. I did, and when I felt better I stopped taking it! (STUPID ME!) then my sore throat started coming back so BOOM started taking it again, felt better and stopped taking it....and so on! Well now the medicine is gone and I have a sore throat, but it's nothing like it was with strep. I feel weak and slightly dizzy when I stand. Should I go back to the doctor and take my medicine the way he said to or just take it like a regular sore throat.?Health Question & Answer

You need to go back to the doc. Strep throat is a lot more dangerous than people think. It can get into your blood stream and can kill you. You can also do a two step gargle every night and see if that wont help. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide real deep in your throat. Spit it out and then do the same with a really good mouthwash. There is a reason he told you to take it all. Strep is hard to kill and it takes a full 10 days. You need to go back and let him run another strep test and next time take all of your medication.Health Question & Answer
